Cafe Mambo, one of the best Ibiza Bars, which is the cover image for this blog

The many many Ibiza bars can be the perfect addition OR alternative to the Ibiza clubbing scene. Having a cocktail as the sun goes down can be the perfect way to either end the day or start a wild night of partying, which is why the Ibiza bar scene is so popular!

From sunset views, rooftops and hidden caves to Irish pubs and low key cocktail bars, there’s something for everyone. This is your guide to the best Ibiza bars to check out while you’re on the island.

San Antonio Ibiza Bars

The San Antonio Ibiza Bars include beautiful sunset views, Irish pubs and the island’s best bar for more mainstream pop and house music – the Ibiza Rocks bar.

If you’re someone who loves a good bar, Ibiza Rocks bar is a place you don’t want to miss. There is also an Ibiza Rocks pool party venue/hotel, but this is their sister property on the bay of San Antonio. It’s probably the well known and loved Ibiza bar. During the day there’s a chill vibe here and they unexpectedly have amazing food. If you come here for food get the goat cheese salad – SO GOOD!

The San Antonio sunset strip is full of high class indoor/outdoor Ibiza bars where you can watch the sunset go down over a cocktail. The bars directly looking out over the sunset do have a minimum spend during the evening time, but often if there’s a table available you can sit for an hour just having drinks with no minimum spend. Café Mambo is the most well known bar on the sunset strip, known for having famous DJs occasionally stop by for a set. Others include Cafe Del Mar, Space Eat&Dance and more.

Along with the beautiful sunset strip and Ibiza Rocks bar, you’ll find a few great Irish pubs in the middle of the San Antonio area. Two popular ones are Shenanigans and Flahertys.

Old Town Ibiza & Playa d’en Bossa Bars

The Old Town Ibiza bars are known for stunning architecture and a really unique old Ibiza feel, with more of a clubby and more upscale vibe than the bars in San Antonio in general. The Ibiza bars here will be more expensive, but you get what you pay for!

There are more than 40 bars lining the streets of Ibiza Town, the Eivissa Harbour and on the Placa del Parc. Some are tucked into the cobblestone streets in the narrow alley ways, which are my favorite, while some are right on the harbour with beautiful views and the ones on the tree-lined Placa del Parc are some of the local favorite spots.

Since there are so many I’m just going to highlight a few that stick out. Really I recommend you just walk around, either at sunset or anytime after 10:00pm or so, and pop in wherever catches your eye!

S’Escalinata is an adorable little bar on the steps after you enter Dalt Vila, where you can people watch and sit on comfy bean bag chairs while you have a few bites to eat and a cocktail.

Paradise Lost is one of the Ibiza Bars in town, which specializes in cocktails in a dimly lit space with a really cool atmosphere. Rooftop Montesol is a beautiful rooftop bar with stunning views of Ibiza town, making for a perfect spot for couples.

Cenote Bar is now called something else I think but either way, go to the spot on Google Maps labeled Cenote bar in Ibiza town and find the cave in the back with a disco bar. As far as I know it’s a real limestone cave. So cool!

Bossa Beach Ibiza Bars

While Playa d’en Bossa is known for the mega clubs, you’ll also find beach clubs and Ibiza bars dotting the beach. During the day these bars operate as beach clubs where there will likely be a minimum spend if you want a beach lounger, but if you are hoping to come in for a drink or two they usually won’t ask for a minimum spend, at least at the time of writing this.

Some to check out are the brand new Playa Soleil, which is the old Bora Bora beach club, Beach House Ibiza and Tanit Beach Ibiza.

Ibiza Bars Elsewhere on the Island

Outside of the two main towns there are plenty of bars dotting the island, especially in the more popular resort areas like Santa Eulalia and Es Canar, and on the beaches along the west coast of the island where you can hangout for sunset. Sunset Ashram is an example of a great bar within 20 minutes of San Antonio, where you can watch the sun set over one of the best beaches in Ibiza – Cala Comte.

Alternative Nightlife Options

While the Ibiza bars are great, the clubs and world-class parties that are hosted by some of the music industry’s best artists are really what Ibiza is known for. I’ve written guides on both the not to be missed clubs in Ibiza and the best Ibiza club nights and parties to attend, in case you need help with your Ibiza itinerary.

Malanga Café is one of the well-loved Ibiza bars which has unfortunately closed down.
